Houma Speeding Ticket Lawyer

A Houma ticket’s total depends on the court, the exact charge and any additional assessments. Send the citation for review before using a generic speed-and-price table to estimate what you owe.

Houma has separate city and district courts

Terrebonne Parish’s 2026 description of City Court identifies a Criminal/Traffic Department handling traffic tickets issued by Houma Police. The Thirty-Second Judicial District Court is a separate court at the Terrebonne Parish Courthouse, 7856 Main Street. Both are in Houma, so the city where the stop occurred is not enough to select a court, payment service or hearing location. Our first step is to read the court and issuing agency on the complete citation.

Use the department handling your Houma charge

The Louisiana Supreme Court’s 2025 court directory lists the City Court clerk at (985) 868-4232, extension 201. Ask for the department responsible for the actual citation and confirm current instructions before traveling or sending payment. A district-court notice calls for a different check through that court’s records. Send any later notice with your ticket, particularly if it changes the date or names an additional charge. We can then discuss the requested amendment, any personal appearance and the fine and costs that remain separate from our fee.

The resolution we usually seek

Our usual approach is to seek an amendment to a non-moving violation, with the goal of protecting your driving record and insurance. Outright dismissal is uncommon in our practice. You still pay the fine and any court costs, in addition to our legal fee. Read how an amendment differs from a dismissal.

Will the lawyer get me off the ticket?

Our usual approach is to request an appropriate non-moving amendment. Dismissal is uncommon, and a reduction is not guaranteed. We explain the proposed disposition and the remaining payments rather than promising no fine, no court appearance or a particular insurance result.

What to send for your ticket review

  • A clear photo of the entire citation and any later court notice.
  • The court date or response deadline, especially if it is near or already past.
  • Your license state, whether you hold a CDL, and any prior or pending ticket that may affect the review.

Our office is in Baton Rouge, and we serve drivers with traffic matters across Louisiana. This page describes our service for Houma; it does not identify a separate office there. Learn about our team or request a ticket review. Sending an inquiry does not extend a deadline or confirm representation.
