Marksville City Court and the parish fines office are different

The city’s current facilities directory places Marksville City Court at 422 North Main Street, (318) 253-6960. City Hall is at a different address on North Washington Street. For a citation handled through the parish, the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s fines office is at 675 Government Street. Match the named court before using an address from an older directory.

City Court’s territory extends beyond the city itself

The current text of R.S. 13:2488.51 includes Marksville and Avoyelles Parish wards one, two, three, four, five, six and eleven in the court’s territory. Location alone still does not identify which court has your case. Our review uses the issuing agency, the named court and the charges rather than assuming all nearby tickets follow one procedure.

Parish payment rules do not automatically apply to City Court

The sheriff’s published instructions say pre-court traffic citations must be paid in full and do not offer installments before court. Those are the parish office’s instructions, not a promise about City Court or your eligibility to avoid an appearance. Before paying, ask our team to review the proposed charge, amount due and any remaining conditions.

What our traffic representation seeks

For an eligible ticket, our usual objective is an amendment to a non-moving violation to help protect your driving record and insurance. Dismissal is uncommon in our practice. The fine and court costs remain payable, and our legal fee is separate. The result requires approval and depends on the charge and driver.

Send the complete ticket for review

  • Provide a readable photo of the entire citation and any later notice.
  • Tell us about an accident, additional charge, prior payment or plea, or missed date.
  • Mention a commercial or out-of-state license and any current restriction.

An inquiry does not extend a deadline or excuse an appearance. We serve drivers with Marksville tickets from our Baton Rouge office. Meet our team.
