St. Martin Parish Speeding Ticket Lawyer & Court Guide

By Stephen Babcock

St. Martinville’s Mayor’s Court and the St. Martin Sheriff’s parish citation process are separate services. The sheriff describes its route for State Police and sheriff citations, while the city publishes its own court calendar with exceptions. A recurring city session should not be used to predict a district-court date.

Court and location at a glance

  • Parish seat: St. Martinville.
  • District-court reference: 16th Judicial District Court. The same judicial district also serves Iberia Parish and St. Mary Parish. Each parish still has its own records and hearing instructions.
  • Use the court on the citation: a city, mayor’s, parish or district court may have different procedures. The nearest city and the issuing agency alone do not always identify the correct court.

What matters for a ticket in St. Martin Parish

St. Martin also includes portions of Broussard and Morgan City, whose guides appear under their other parishes as well. Henderson and Breaux Bridge have additional local guidance. The parish belongs to the 16th Judicial District with Iberia and St. Mary, but shared geography or a district number does not make case records interchangeable.

Across parish lines: Broussard spans Lafayette Parish and St. Martin Parish; Morgan City spans St. Martin Parish and St. Mary Parish. These guides appear under each relevant parish. We still check the actual court and location before identifying the case.

Official resources and local references

These official sources support the local court information above. Our team reviews the court, charge and current instructions for your actual ticket. Send us the citation and latest notices for a review of the available representation; a general calendar or payment page does not replace a court order.

Have the citation reviewed before choosing a resolution

Send a clear ticket photo and every later notice. Tell us the required date, license state, whether you hold a CDL, and whether you have already paid or appeared. We identify the court and charge, assess an appropriate non-moving amendment or other supported resolution, and explain our work and fee before representation is confirmed. Contacting us alone does not extend a deadline.

Our speeding-ticket fee promise: If we accept your speeding-ticket case and obtain neither a non-moving amendment nor a dismissal, we refund your full attorney’s fee. Court fines and costs are separate. Read what our fee-refund promise covers.
