Louisiana I-12 Speeding Ticket Lawyer
By Stephen Babcock, Babcock Partners, LLC
The officer handed you a ticket somewhere between Baton Rouge and Slidell. You may remember the exit perfectly and still have no idea which court expects a response. Send us a photo of the whole citation and your deadline. We can identify the court, review the speeding charge and tell you what hiring us would cover.
Our attorney’s-fee promise. If we accept your speeding-ticket case and obtain neither a non-moving amendment nor a dismissal, we refund your full attorney’s fee. Court fines and costs are separate. Read what our fee covers.
Where on I-12 did the stop happen?
Interstate 12 starts at I-10 in Baton Rouge, crosses I-55 at Hammond and ends at the I-10/I-59 junction near Slidell. If you remember the exit for a town on the north shore, that helps locate the stop. The name on the exit sign does not establish which court has your ticket.
Baton Rouge, the Amite River and Denham Springs
On the Baton Rouge side, use the East Baton Rouge Parish or Baton Rouge guide. Across the Amite River toward Denham Springs, I-12 enters Livingston Parish. The Walker and Livingston guides cover communities farther east. If the citation just says “Amite River bridge,” send us the direction of travel and any mile marker the officer wrote down.
Hammond and the I-55 interchange
If the stop was near the I-55 interchange, start with Tangipahoa Parish and Hammond. A trip toward Ponchatoula can involve both roads. Did the officer cite the I-12 mainline, an entrance ramp, or I-55 after the turn? We use that detail alongside the issuing agency and the court on the ticket.
Covington, Mandeville and Slidell
The US 190 interchange serves drivers heading north to Covington and south to Mandeville. Both are in St. Tammany Parish. Closer to Slidell, check which interstate is written on the ticket. I-12 ends there. If your citation instead says I-10, our Louisiana I-10 ticket guide covers that route.
Can a lawyer handle this without another trip across the Northshore?
If appearing means missing a shift or driving back from Mississippi, tell us that when you send the ticket. We check whether you must attend, what the court will allow counsel to handle, and whether any separate notice changes the date. Keep the date on the notice unless a change is confirmed.
For a driver who wants to protect a clean record, the important question is what charge would be recorded. We review the alleged speed, look at any other charges and discuss whether we can seek a non-moving amendment or dismissal. Before you hire us, we explain our fee and any fines or costs that would still be yours.
Ask about your I-12 ticket before the response date
Send a legible photo showing the court, location, speed and deadline. Include any notice you received later. If you drive for work, tell us whether you hold a CDL and which vehicle you were driving. We review CDL speeding tickets issued in personal vehicles only.
